Are my parcel shipments currently insured?

All parcel shipments are insured for a maximum value of $100. If you would like to increase the value of insurance on shipments, you need to turn on Insurance under the product page in GoBolt’s portal. 

 

Are my freight shipments insured as well?

No, to insure freight shipments, please reach out via our live chat for assistance.

 

I have my own carrier account connected to the GoBolt portal, will this affect my ability to apply additional insurance to my shipments?

Yes, this insurance feature is only applicable for shipments generated with our GoBolt carrier accounts. 

 

Can I insure my parcel shipment for a custom amount?

Once you toggle on the Insurance field in the Product page, shipments containing that product will be automatically insured for the cost value or the customized value of the product that you indicated. 

 

How can I insure my parcel shipment? 

  1. Log into the GoBolt portal and go to the “Products” sub tab under Inventory. 

  2. Search and open the product in question. 

  3. Click “Edit Product” in the top right-hand corner. 

  4. Toggle the “Insurance” field to “On” and enter the value you would like to insure this product for.

  5. Click “Save”. 

Please note that insurance is applied at the product level and cannot be toggled on and off for specific shipments. 

 

Does insurance affect customs duties? 

Insurance does not affect custom duties for cross border shipments. Insurance is applied to your shipping fees and provides a payout to the set amount if your shipment is lost or damaged. 

Please note that at GoBolt, custom duties are Billed to Shipper. Customs duties are pre-paid before the shipment crosses international borders and will appear on your GoBolt Invoice. 

 

Does insurance affect postage fees?

The shipping fee will remain the same, insurance will be added on top of shipping as a separate line item.
