Order Orchestration

Edited

Order orchestration determines which facility your order will be shipped from.

There are 2 factors that GoBolt considers when determining the correct facility:

  1. Shipping address and proximity to associated regions
Each GoBolt facility has a list of provinces or states that it’s eligible to fulfill for (Primary Regions) which we'll try to fulfill from first. Secondary and Fallback facilities will be considered if stock isn’t available at primary facilities

  2. Stock Levels at Primary and Configured Facilities
After considering the shipping address, the system checks stock levels at all eligible GoBolt facilities and assigns the order to the facility with the highest available stock, in order of priority (Primary, Secondary, Fallback).

If an order’s assigned facility is not what’s expected, or needs to change, this can be manually updated at the order level.

Setting Regions and Fallbacks

Primary Regions

Each GoBolt facility serves specific provinces or states, known as Primary Regions, based on their proximity to the facility. These regions are pre-set and cannot be changed. No action is required for you in this section, it is informational.

Secondary Regions

If you'd like a GoBolt facility to serve additional regions, you can manually link them as Secondary Regions. However, Primary Regions always take priority over Secondary Regions for fulfillment.

Fallback Facilities

Fallback Facilities can be configured at the country level. In cases when there is no inventory at any of the Primary or Secondary facilities, you may set a fallback facility for orders to be assigned to. (Note that orders can still be reassigned if inventory becomes available at another eligible facility.)

Partial Stock Scenarios

To include fallback facilities for partially in-stock orders, toggle the setting to 'On.'

  • Off: If an order is out of stock, it's assigned to the fallback facility.

  • On: Partially in-stock orders can also be assigned to the fallback facility

This is especially recommended for merchants who:

  1. Have partial fulfillment turned off, and

  2. Frequently replenish stock at the fallback facility.

Split Orders

The system does not automatically split orders between facilities. If one line item is processed at one facility and another is in stock at a different facility, the system will not reassign the remaining item automatically. However, you can manually update the order to reassign the remaining line items to the desired facility.
